Things I Love
I’m excited to share some information about a few of the items I use in my day-to-day life. I have used each of these items and the opinions expressed on this page are completely my own. I will never recommend a product or service that I do not believe in 100%.
I’ve divided my favorites by category, so you can click the links below to go directly to the section for Foods, Supplements, Books, or Services.
Power Balls are a delicious Paleo & Autoimmune Protocol SUPER FOOD designed to fuel and nourish the body. The Balls are made of the highest-quality ingredients, but are low on the glycemic index. I love them for a quick post workout snack or when I just need a snack.
Best of all, each Ball packs in pure grass-fed collagen protein and amazing flavor—see for yourself!

Primal Kitchen’s salad dressings have been a game changer for me. They’re just as good on raw or roasted vegetables as they are on salads, and it’s no exaggeration to say that I probably use a Primal Kitchen dressing just about every day. (Ranch is my favorite!)

When I take supplements, it’s generally for compounds or nutrients that aren’t readily abundant in the food I eat. (If I learn that I’m deficient in Vitamin A or Vitamin C or potassium, for example, I’ll work to add the appropriate foods more regularly, not start taking a multivitamin.)
Elysium Basis contains two compounts (nicotinamide riboside (NR) and pterostilbene) that have been shown to boost the body’s levels of NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) and Sirtuins. NAD+ and Sirtuins play vital roles in hundreds of metabolic processes in the body’s cells, and are thought to help delay the negative effects of aging.

I live in Arizona, which gets an average of 300+ days of sun every year. But that doesn’t mean I always get the benefit of it. Some days my schedule has me spending most of the day indoors, so I take a Primal Sun Vitamin D supplement to make sure I’m on track.

Gretchen Rubin’s answer: through habits. Habits are the invisible architecture of everyday life. It takes work to make a habit, but once that habit is set, we can harness the energy of habits to build happier, stronger, more productive lives.
So if habits are a key to change, then what we really need to know is: How do we change our habits?

When it comes to the role food plays in keeping yourself healthy, not all doctors are going to give you the same advice. Many will give lip service to the importance of eating a “balanced diet,” but then immediately jump to prescribing numerous medications when health problems arise.
Fortunately, Dr. Catherine Shanahan has written Deep Nutrition, which describes how the food we eat impacts our health and wellness at a cellular level. After reading Deep Nutrition you’ll understand why eating right isn’t just a factor in your long term health — it’s a requirement.
